Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

FREED TRUCK DRIVER David Wilson is facing bankruptcy proceedings from his finance company for £20,000 worth of missed payments on his truck while he was in prison.

Last week Wilson won his appeal against his conviction for people trafficking after returning to Greece to clear his name (CM 15 January). He had been sentenced to IA years' imprisonment after his truck was searched at Patras port and 19 stowaways were discovered on-board.

Wilson's boss, Paul Willis at Prescott Transport, believes Diamond Finance UK is hounding Wilson; he says it could have been more sympathetic to his plight. Willis claims the company called Wilson as soon as it heard he had won his appeal and would have his truck and bail money returned.

"They are threatening bankruptcy proceedings against him over the truck," says Willis. "But under Greek protocol we will have to wait another 14 days for his vehicle to be released. When we were in Greece we couldn't even see his truck in the pound — it could have been sold off for all we know."

A Diamond spokesman declined to comment.
