'THE withdrawal of meat-delivery services by closed vans in Dundee was I described as a retrograde step by Mr. Alex Robertson, Scottish Deputy Licensing Authority, at Dundee last week. He had 'been told that the closed-van service, previously operated by J. Findlay and CO (Contractors), Ltd., Lochee, had been withdrawn because of poor support from city butchers.
Future carriage of meat would be by the old method of flat lorries covered with tarpaulins, he was informed.
