ONE of the first announcements of the purchase of a transport unit comes from L E. Chettle, Ltd., The Mill House, Ilkeston Road, Nottingham. They informed The Commercial Motor on Monday that they had bought a unit consisting of five Atkinson, Bedford and Leyland vehicles formerly based at Ironmonger Road, Nottingham. These lorries will, as from February 1, be operated from the company's present

headquarters.

Another haulier said that he had valued a licence at £25, but his tender had been
