Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

A photograph of a prototype Volvo Ailsa double deck bus which is on the way to Bangkok and Singapore for demonstrations prior to being shipped to a Hong Kong operator was published in CM of October 6.

As this design of bus body has only a single door, Ailsa seems to disregard the local passenger loading requirements in Bangkok.

The double-decker will be new to Bangkok, so surely the prototype vehicle should have the optimum entrance and exit, ie, two doorways. A prototype bus with only one, comparatively narrow, door can only do the double-decker concept more harm than good — even Bangkok's standard singledeckers all have two doors.

However, as Ailsa's Hong Kong customer will be using the bus mainly for charter work, eg, transporting workers to a factory, perhaps Ailsa has little concern for bad image it will initially create in Bangkok and Singapore.
