• To help packers and manufacturers of packaging in the £900m industry BSI is publishing a new Standard in the field of packaging, BS 4826 Methods of test for complete, filled transport packages. The standard is published in parts, each of which deals with a different test or aspect of package testing.
Part 1: 1972 Identification of package parts when testing, has just been published and gives a system for the identification of parts of complete, filled transport packages when testing.
Parts 2, 3 and 4 of BS 4826, which are already available, deal with conditioning for testing, stacking test, and vertical impact test by dropping.
