• The Swedish equivalent of the RHA has formed a special company called AB Akeri Radio (Haulage Radio Ltd) which has its own wavelengths, 450 base stations and some 14,000 vehicles fitted with two-way radio equipment. Most of the radio units operaie in the 85-87 MHz frequency range and it is intended to standardize on this band. There will be one national channel and a number of local ones. A major survey of the telecommunications needs of the haulage industry in Sweden during the 1980s has been launched by Swedish road hauliers.
