Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Logistics has bought the business and assets of Cobley Transport (Reading), which was placed into administration earlier this month (CM 22 August). Cobley Transport (Reading) was a Palletways member, and had itself taken on the work of defunct Reading Freight Service a year ago. Palletways said: "Premier Logistics is the new member of the Palletways Network for the RG postcode and now undertakes all collections and deliveries previ

ously carried out by Cobley Transport (Reading), ensuing a seamless continuation of service to all customers."

Cobley Transport (Reading) was placed into administration with FA Simms & Partners on 7 August. It had a depot in Thatcham, where it had an 0-licence for up to 30 vehicles and 35 trailers.

Premier MD Lee Christopher said the deal for the Thatcham site had saved around 30 jobs. "This was too good an opportunity to let it go past," he said. "The location is where we wanted to be." In July, Premier opened its first

southern hub in St Albans, Herts, after it acquired the assets of PallEx and fellow network member Bill Chippington Haulage, and additional depot openings are pencilled in for the new year.

Pall-Ex network development director Steven Reed said:"This is a complex situation that has risen quickly and we are talking to Premier Logistics to agree a mutually acceptable way forward."

PK and IF Cobley, which trades as Cobley Transport, based in Broughton Astley, Leicestershire, is not affected by the administration of Cobley Transport (Reading).
