Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Frank Steers. one of the leading lights in Trans-Action, and the man behind the recent spate of protests will finally get a hearing in front of Transport Minister John Reid—or one of his civil servants.

The new Industry Forum wants to speak to hauliers at the front line of the industry's problems, and the Road Haulage Association will be putting Steers forward as its candidate. RHA national chairman John Bridge says he is "99% certain that Frank will be included".

The Government has also asked Bridge and Freight Transport Association president Lawrence Christenson to attend the next meeting of the Forum, which is expected at the end of May.

Bridge says his top priority will be to secure a commitment from Reid to implement the industry's essential-user rebate proposal—or to stop the fuel duty escalator at the next Budget. if that doesn't happen within eight weeks, I'll walk away," says Bridge.
