Woodhead-Gervis . Link Up

'THE Woodhead-Monroe shock I absorber patented by The Monroe Auto Equipment Co., of Michigan, US.A., is being manufactured in Britain by Jonas Woodhead and Sons, Ltd., of Leeds, which claims to be the largest spring manufacturer in the Empire.

The Woodhead concern has now appointed Gervis Components, Ltd., Wakeman Road, London, N.W.10, to

act as sole distributor on this side of its business.

This type of shock absorber will be supplied with the necessary conversion brackets to fit all kinds of vehicle. The device is of the direct, double-acting, telescopic type, and only three models are required to cover the whole requirements of the trade. An appreciated feature is that no maintenance is necessary, and no topping-up, whilst the absorber is dirt and leak proof. Designed for vertical mounting, it allows an angular variation of 45 degrees without toss of performance.

Production in the U.S.A. exceeds 30,000 units per day.

AIRPORT COACH TOURS

A NX1OUS to interest Britain in flying, the Ministry of Civil Aviation

has arranged for conducted coach tours within Prestwick Airport. This was disclosed in Glasgow, last week, at a sit. ting of the Scottish Licensing Authority, when an application by the Western S.M.T. Co., Ltd., to run tours from Ayr to Prestwick Airport was granted.

The application was stated to be based on a letter from the Ministry of Civil Aviation, which was, it seemed. anxious to attract organized parties of sightseers to the airport. A comprehensive tour of the airfield would be made arid the fare would be Is return.
