• The trailer should be sealed and locked.
• Avoid truck stops at Calais and the Pidou Cash and Carry on the A524 in Belgium—both locations are known hotspots for stowaways.
• Use the heartbeat sensors at Calais to detect stowaways in the vehicle.
• Check to see if a trailer curtain has been cut and stitched up before making the crossing to the UK.
