Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Well, what a week for fuel protests. First, I have great admiration for all of those who took part and made the government listen and now put them on the spot to do something. Also, everyone in the industry owes them a great deal of gratitude for turning the public's opinion from one of "bloody old lorries" to "good ol' boys".

However, the government now has 60 days to act but also has 60 days to pull up their pants and never get caught with them down again.

Next time, if there is a next time, they will be prepared and protests may be dispersed immediately. But 60 days also allows the protesters to regroup, re-organise and think of another method of forcing the government to listen.

This protest still needs the support of the larger hauliers who will also benefit from lower fuel costs. If the whole of the haulage industry was to unite it would be invincible. But while its fighting with one hand tied behind its back, it's a long, tough fight Once again, to those who have done us proud—well done. For those who still haven't shown any support, what are you waiting for Norbert Dentressangle or Willi Betz to knock on your door?

it is now time for the RHA and FTA to insist on talks, and for action to come from them. Paul Fox, Manea, Cambs.
