Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

TACHOGRAPH manufacturer Kienzle has developed a device aimed at improving the fuel consumption of the vehicle.

Known as the Econograph, it analyses engine, vehicle and driver-related data with an on-board mini-computer. The Econograph is wired into the instrument panel circuitry to provide red, yellow and green warning lights.

If the light is green, then the driver is already using the vehicle to its optimum economy for the prevailing conditions. Yellow represents an "average" condition while an illuminated red light warns that the driver should either change gear or otherwise alter his driving technique.

Still in the prototype stage for commercial vehicles at the moment, the Econograph is not likely to be offered in the UK for some time.
