Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Further to your comment in Commercial Motor (14-20 Nov), we take a very poor view of the EC

making regulations and laws which may limit the speed of commercial vehicles to 50mph. It is likely when they convert miles per hour to kilometres per hour that they will again reduce the speed at which we are allowed to operate.

If this unfortunately happens, congestion will increase and we will have to operate at least one more vehicle to cover the loss of time. We hope that your campaign is successful and we will be pleased to continue to support you in any way that you think fit. J L Romanes Managing director, Lothian Chemical Co, Granton, Edinburgh.
