Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Iveco Ford's new 59.12 DailyBus chassis cowl is being used for four body designs in the next few weeks (CM 24-30Oct).

Folkestone-based FSV Dormobile, Rochdale-based Mellor Coachcraft, Walter Alexander of Falkirk, and Ballymena-based Robert Wright & Son, are building on the cowl, which takes bodywork up to 7.68m long.

Wright estimates its 29-seater Alusuisse-bodied minibus body will cost around £20,000 — the chassis cowl will add £19,500. And its accessible bus on the 59.12 will cost an extra £500.

Iveco Ford launched the 59.12 with a Carlyle body last month and plans to sell 100 of the 2.5-litre 85kW (116hp) powered units next year.

The 4,180mm and 4,480mm wheelbase chassis cowls will be available to operators from next January. They are just finishing stability tests at MIRA, having passed tilt tests for 29 seated and 10 standing passengers.
