Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

From Gerni (Cleaning Equipment) comes a new, fully portable hydraulic vehicle lift. The Autolift will raise light vehicles on to their sides at angles up to 45deg with the sill lifted 4ft 6in. clear of the ground.

The unit comprises a main beam with a pair of legs pivoted in its centre. At the ends of the legs are a pair of 6in. diameter nylon wheels. On top of the main beam is a support plate which carries a lug which locates inside the sill members when the vehicle IS lifted. Connected

between the outer ends of the main frame and the landing legs is a retracting hydraulic ram powered by a hand-operated double-acting pump. Retraction of the ram reduces the distance between the outer ends of the unit causing one end of the lifting beam to rise, lifting the vehicle with it. Safety locks are fitted to avoid collapse in the event of an hydraulic failure.
