RULING BY SCOTTISH HIGH COURT THE Second Division of the Scottish Court of Session has ruled that where a bus is in service with the door open it must be provided with a central vertical pillar on the platform:

This was the opinion of Lords Wheatley and Walker (Lord Strachan dissenting) in an appeal on an action for 'damages against Scottish Omnibuses Ltd. on behalf of a passenger who fell from a bus and was severely injured.
