forced to temporarily relax typical drivers' hours rules for hauliers delivering livestock feed as a result of the unseasonal wintery weather.
The relaxation will apply only to deliveries of raw materials to feed mills or prepared feed to livestock farms in the UK, and will run until 11.59pm on 30 March.
The daily nine-hour driving limit has been replaced by a 10-hour limit, while daily rest requirements have been reduced from 11 to nine hours.
The weekly rest requirement has also been postponed by up to 24 hours but drivers will still have to rest for a minimum of 24 hours, beginning no later than the 11th day since their last rest period.
However, Vosa will continue to enforce the 45-minute rest requirement after 4.5 hours of driving.
