Castrol/Institute of the Motor Industry Gold Medal to Sir Godfrey Messenry, chairman and chief executive of Lucas Industries, at The Savoy, London, this week.
Sir Godfrey accepted the award on behalf of Lucas Girling who received the award for designing and jointly developing its four wheel antilock braking system for front wheel drive family cars.
