• While discussions continue between Dundee councillors and the Scottish Transport Group regarding the sale of the Dundee municipal bus undertaking, allegations of irregular meetings have been tabled by the opposition members of the town council, who are asking for a complete statement on the subject.
The STG has confirmed that a meeting took place in Dundee on Friday, March 14. The next move in the proposed sale is now reported to be up to Dundee City Council.
Meanwhile the transport department has proposed the introduction of one-man buses on two routes and frequency cuts on other routes which will bring estimated savings of £67,000 per year. A revised application for fares increases which would bring in an estimated £70.000 additional revenue per year has been submitted to the Traffic Commissioners following their rejection of an application for a id increase on all fares.
