The procurement of the new models over the next 12 months will take Innovate's fleet to almost 550 vehicles.At least 288 of these will work on its Corby Chilled Distribution business and run between all the Innovate and Corby depots across the UK. It is anticipated that more may need to be ordered "to meet future growth plans".
Innovate MD Pete Osborne says: "Right now, the Euro-4s are at the pinnacle of truck technology. Volvo's promise to improve fuel results by 5% played a pivotal role in our decision-making process— we can cut costs and reduce emissions in one move. We're planning further expansion through 2007 and the extended fleet will enable us to continue providing a top-level service."
Innovate acquired Corby Chilled Distribution in October 2006, and recently posted a pre-tax loss of £.1,5m for the year ending March 2006.
