MI I refer to the article -Thumbs-up for M6 Lights" (CM, May 31).
I would draw your attention to the fact that a system of motorway slip road traffic lights were introduced to the slip roads leading to and from the M74 motorway Bothwell at the Raith Interchange in April 1985.
The lights have been successfully alleviating heavy
traffic volume on these roads and I would presume they will do the same at Perry Bar, Birmingham. D Wark Hamilton Lanarkshire
