THE final draft of the agreement on the international transport of dangerous goods by road in Europe was completed last week by the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe's working party on the transPort of dangerous goods. The draft agreement incorporates provisions defining the way in which goods should be labelled and packed for carriage, and concerning safety rules for constructing and operating vehicles. It also contains provision on the nature and operation of the signs or signals to be carried on them, and will be ready for signature in September.

Goods classified as dangerous are listed 'under various headings including explosive substances and articles, various gases, substances liable to spontaneous combustion, inflammable liquids and solids, oxidizing, poisonous, repugnant, radioactive and corrosive substances.

SIX-SPEED GEARBOX

THE six-ratio gearbox that Albion Motors, Ltd., introduced a few months ago for some of their fourcylinder chassis is now available for Clydesdale and Reiver models with Leyland 0.350 six-cylindered oil engines. The gearbox is based on the Albion five-speed constant-mesh unit, and the overdrive sixth speed has a step-up ratio of I to 1.3.

It is offered as an alternative to the five-ratio gearbox at £20 'extra, including purchase tax.
