• Truck rental group Ryder is about to announce the first contracts for its dedicated distribution offshoot, Ryder Distribution Services. RDS will take over an existing Ryder rental arrangement with soap powder manufacturer Procter and Gamble, and will begin another in the public sector for 14 trucks and drivers.
The division, which is headed by Jim Morris, has already taken on three distribution professionals and a design team.
