A WARNING that it might well be necessary to put down a series of Amendments to the Transport Bill came from Tory spokesman Lord O'Hagan when the Government last week altered the Welsh Bill to take account of the measure.
Moving an amendment to the Welsh Bill — which was accepted — Lady Stedman pointed out that the Transport Bill said that a driver of a community bus had to be a volunteer, or, if not, had toi be the holder of a psv What the Government wanted to do was to reserve the power of prescription in common with all matters concerning drivers' qualifications so that the same rights would be administered nationally and would not be devolved to the Assembly.
