Road Transport Industry Training Board chairman Kenneth Turner is not to seek re-appointment when his term of office expires in September. He has been chairman since the RTITB's inception 12 years ago, and has been involved closely with the industry for many years. He was president of the Traders Road Transport Association (now FTA), chairman of the National Road Transport Federation, and 1965/66 president of the International Road Transport Union.

George Skelton has retired as chairman of Pickfords Travel Service. He retained this post after his retirement as managing director of the Removal and Travel companies in the Pickfords group in 1976.
