Road Transport Industry Training Board chairman Kenneth Turner is not to seek re-appointment when his term of office expires in September. He has been chairman since the RTITB's inception 12 years ago, and has been involved closely with the industry for many years. He was president of the Traders Road Transport Association (now FTA), chairman of the National Road Transport Federation, and 1965/66 president of the International Road Transport Union.
George Skelton has retired as chairman of Pickfords Travel Service. He retained this post after his retirement as managing director of the Removal and Travel companies in the Pickfords group in 1976.
Stan Jackson has become a director of North Eastern BRS Ltd, following the retirement of contracts director T. Paull. He has been in road transport since 1934, and with BRS for 12 years.
Lep Transport has appointed Dermot Leeper as regional director of its Scottish division. He has been general manager of Lep Scotland since March 1976, and worked in North America with Lep for several years.
National Bus has made Derek Allison the new chief engineer of Yorkshire Traction in place of Haydn Bolt. He was previously assistant chief engineer with Eastern National, John Jackson, National Travel (NBC) Ltd assistant secretary/accountant, has replaced Michael Fairweather as the company's management services accountant.
Newly-formed Trans Border Group of Companies, incorporating the J. S. Wood Group and Chapman and Ball Ltd, has appointed Tom Webb as its financial director. He was previously managing director of Courtauld company Batho, Taylor and Ogden.
New appointments at Ailsa, Bus Ltd are of Peter Kitt, bus service engineer, as sales manager, Alan McKenzie, of Ford's engineering and development department, as bus supply manager, and John Brown as certification engineer.
