Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

ownerdrivers, which is a pity, because they all stand to benefit from the efforts of the dedicated few_ I know time is a problem for owner-drivers but surely they can spare ten minutes to fill in a membership application form for their local owner-drivers' association?

The trouble is there are far too many who are prepared to sit in the background and let others do the spade work. They all give the same reasons as Mr Taylor, but once an association becomes fully operational, the flood of incoming membership application forms is unbelievable.

This Association was established with the aim of improving all conditions for owner-drivers so that they may obtain a reasonable return on capital invested. We are making good progress and have succeeded in getting them recognised as businessmen and not just lorry drivers who happen to own a vehicle.

Mr Taylor or anyone else who feels as he does, should join forces with us if they wish to prosper to any degree in the future. They should act, and act now, either by joining their local association or, if this does not exist, by making some effort to get an association started in their area.

I am prepared to give every assistance to any group of owner-drivers who wish to establish an association or join the nearest one to them, All they have to do is contact me on Egham 5402 or write to me at the address below to get things moving, MIKE WELLS, Secretary, BA 00, 1 Langham Place, Egham, Surrey.
