A NEW trailer, at 30 tons gross the largest of its type ever] by Eezion Ltd of Bedford, has been manufactured for expo the Savannah Sugar Co in Nigeria.
The design of the trailer facilitates easy and safe loadin wheeled and tracked vehicles. To achieve this, the rear sectic the platform is tilted by the twin hydraulic rams mow between the platform and the main bed, controlled t hydraulic hand pump. Short ramps are provided which h and lock into an upright position for travelling.
The suspension for both the tandem rear axle and f turntable is of a solid rubber design.
A small but not insignificant feature of this trailer is automatic mechanical locking of the platform in the trave position. This feature is claimed to eliminate completely "hammering" of the conventional slide, both to release secure the platform.
