Strapping Tape Dispenser

A N improved hand dispenser is being

marketed by P. P. Payne and Sons. Ltd., Hayding Road, Nottingham. Called Model HDA, it is of the "pull and tear" type and is said to ensure rapid and aacurate dispensing, cutting and positioning.

;Using the dispenser is intended to Simplify the application of pressure .Sensitive tapes, and ensures perfect con,.trol during the sealing operation. The 'Cittter blades are easily replaceable and Are designed to cut tough strapping tapes without being razor sharp.

The machine can be used with all pressure-sensitive tapes on 3-in, centre cores from I. in. to 1 in. wide, and on rolls up to 8-in. diameter.

Yeedo/ Oils for U.K.

A VAILABLE for the first time in /71 Britain, five grades of Veedol lubricating oils have been introduced by Veedol (U.K.), Ltd., Villiers House. Strand, London, W.C.2, part of the TideWater group of ,companies. The oils are available in pint and quart cans. also 1-gal. cans, 5-gal. pails and 45-gal. drums.

Two of the five oils are principally for commercial-vehicle applications. They are Veedol Adelbus, a Supplement 1 20W-30 detergent oil suitable for highspeed diesel engines. Veedol Atline is another 20W-30 oil, but without detergent properties and suitable for petrol engines operating under mild service conditions.

A new type of oil, claimed to have properties different from those of any other oil on the British market is Veedol Heavy Duty Plus 20W-30. This oil can be used in diesel or petrol engines, and provides a high level of detergency.

The other oils are Veedol 10-30, a multigrade oil which can also be used in both diesel and petrol engines, whilst the fifth oil is Veedol Premium 20W-30. recommended for moderate-duty commercial-vehicle petrol engines.

Retail prices of the oils range from 2s. ld. to 2s. 10d. per pint, with. 5-gal. pails priced at from 72s. 6d. to 98s. 4d,

Storage Aids THE range of storage pans made by Welconstruct Co., Ltd., 35 Carrs Lane, Birmingham, is increased by the introduction of three sizes of 10-in.-wide pans.

These are intended primarily for use in conjunction with 3-ft.-wide shelving and are made from 22-gauge galvanized steel with wired rims and half-lift handles. Cardholders are included at both ends of each pan.

The pans are 6 in. deep and are made in lengths of 1 ft., 1 ft. 6 in. and 2 ft.. costing 6s. 9d., 7s. 10d. and 8s. lid, each respectively when ordered in batches of 100.

Travel Pack A COMPACT first-aid kit, designed to be carried on vehicles, has been introduced by Boots the Chemists.

The kit is carried in a -plastic case , which, when closed, measures 7 in. X 5 in. x 2 in., and includes iodine, acreflavine, bandages, lint, gauze and adhesive drosings, and a bottle of aspirins. In addition to these items, the

case contains scissors, a packet of•tissues, a nail file and a comb, a torch

and a small screwdriver.

Cost of the pack complete is 18s. 6d.

Disc Brake Fluid DRAKE fluid for use with Dunfop disc .

brakes has been developed by the• Dunlop Rubber Co., Ltd., and Castro], Ltd. This fluid, which contains special anti-corrosive ingredients, is recommended by Dunlop for use with their . hydraulic disc brakes.

It is pale amber in colour and costs 15s. 7d. for a quart tin.
