THINK YOUR WORKSHOP has got what it takes to be recognised as the best? Then you need to enter the Motor Transport Awards, organised by Motor Transport, CM's sister title.
The Repair & Maintenance Workshop of the Year award, sponsored by Total, replaces the Dealer of the Year prize, which was won by Volvo Trucks dealer MC Group last year.
By rewarding the industry's best aftersales service, Motor Transport judges recognise just how important back-up has become to operators in recent years.
Motor Transport editor Steve Hobson said the award acknowledges that keeping a CV fleet on the road that is safe, legal, reliable and highly productive is a tough job.
"This award is for the in-house or third-party repair and maintenance workshop that delivers on all four counts. It will go to the R&M operation that shows it meets the operational needs of the transport business in terms of high vehicle availability and reliability, while ensuring the highest standards of safety and compliance," he explained.
Workshops will need to meet a host of criteria including industry-leading levels of first-time annual test pass rates, fast response time to problems picked up by the driver daily checks, preventative systems, commitment to training, high levels of customer satisfaction, quick response times to breakdowns and success at fixing problems roadside.
