xt Kent police are hunting for a truck driver who drove into the side of a police car, injuring a policewoman, after she stopped him on suspicion of fly tipping.

The incident happened at around 815pm last Tuesday (19 Augl on Dean Road, Greenhithe.

The policewoman had spotted what appeared to be a yellow flatbed eight-wheeler truck fly tipping on the side of the road. She spoke to the driver about it, then returned to her police car to complete some paperwork. As she was sitting in the car, the truck driver rammed his vehicle into the offside, causing over £1,000 of damage and the police officer to suffer from severe bruising to her leg.

A spokesman for Kent police says: The truck driver then drove off before abandoning his vehicle in Faxwood Lane, Bean. He is described as Asian, in his late forties, 5ft 6in tall with a stocky build. Anyone with information should contact us."
