MANGE BEARS FRUIT

Orange is implementing the first deployment of its fleet telematics solution. Fleetlink, with pharmaceutical firm KCI Medical. Around 60 vehicles are being kitted out.

Orange says it will also be introducing a web interface for Fleetlink in the next couple of months. It also plans to add GPRS capability to the system, although probably not before the end of 2003.

MANDATA FIRST

Dutch white goods and furniture distributor/installer ICN is installing both the Manpack 3 fleet management software and Advanced Services GPS-based telematics package from Mandata In Its 30-plus strong fleet. Installation is set to begin before the end of September 2003. COUNCIL ORDER

Cybit has won an order for its Fleetstar-Online telematics solution from Aberdeenshire Council. The council will use the solution to track its refuse collection vehicles during collection rounds and provide both real-time and historical vehicle data.

The new system will help the council maintain customer service levels by increasing the efficiency of vehicle route planning, providing detailed performance records and assisting quick responses to customer queries.
