• Thales Telematics has introduced an advanced telematics solution—FleetMatik —which combines traditional vehicle tracking and tracing with other functions, such as job scheduling and real-time traffic and delivery information.
Designed specifically for fleet users, FleetMatik includes improvements to the alarm generation and zone designation capabilities of Thales' existing offerings. It also offers fleet dispatching and scheduling, continuous fleet tracking, fleet optimisation and management reports, traffic monitoring, route planning, real-time delivery information and customer service monitoring.
Among the system's main features are the ability to define zones, itineraries and perimeters of security for optimum control; uploading and management of information from different onboard sensors (like motion detectors, temperature probes and impact sensors); uploading of technical data like mileage and fuel consumption information; and uploading of driver data through an interface with a vehicle's digital tachograph.
