Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• International hauliers who have signed up to the Eurowatch truck security scheme can now qualify for insurance discounts.

Freight and transit insurance broker Peter Lole is to provide discounts on transit insurance where hauliers have subscribed to the pan-European security service.

The service allows subscribers, who perhaps have had their load stolen, to call a single telephone number where Information can be communicated in any European language. This removes the difficulty drivers have in gaining access to police response abroad, says Eurowatch. The service works through a central website and has a network of policeaccredited national service providers in each of the 23 countries involved which operate 24 hours a day.

Peter tole, managing director of the insurance broker, says; "The service provides essential access to police through a central network, and we believe it helps to reduce losses should a vehicle be involved in a crime.

"For our clients who subscribe to the service, we have secured a discount on their goods-in-transit premiums; the level of discount depends on individual circumstances and the frequency of cross-border travel," he adds.

More than 100,000 vehicles have registered with Eurowatch since its launch in May last year. The company says it has already led to the recovery of €4m of stolen freight and all stolen vehicles reported to the service.
