He started his career with Leyland Motors in 1955, joined Eastern Counties as a senior management trainee in 1961, and was general manager of Lincolnshire Road Car from 1978 until he took charge of APT In 1981.

South Midland's traffic manager, is being seconded to the National Bus Midlands and West region from September 1, to assist regional executive JOHN BODGER who is taking temporary charge of Western National from that date.

Cab-Craft, a Mitchell Cotts engineering company, has made ALISTAIR DOUGLAS managing director, and JOHN MARCHBANK production director. Mr Douglas has been director and general manager since he joined CabCraft last year from Coventry Climax, and Mr Marchbank has been production manager for two years. Both started their new jobs on July 1.

Mitchell Colts Precision Engineering, based at Weston-superMare, has made KERI WILLIAMS its director and general manager. He has been with Mitchell Cotts since J. C. Peacock was taken over in 1968.

TIM WERNLY is now chariman of Scantruck, as well as Scania (Great Britain), and CHRISTOPHER ROBINSON, who joined the company in December last year, has moved from being general manager to succeed RAY FISHER as 'managing director of Scantruck.

Correction JOHN THOMPSON is managing director of Wincanton Garages and not of Wincanton Group as was stated in last week's "People on the move". DAVID YEOMAN is the Wincanton Group's managing director.

Obituary We record with regret the death of GRAHAM BRANT at 57.

Mr Brant was chief executive of York Trailer's service division, and joined the company in 1960 after years of service in the aluminium industry, and started as chief development engineer. He took charge of York's export business in 1968, and was made a Member of the British Empire in 1974. He also had environmental interests, and was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts in 1973. He leaves a wife, son, and daughter.
