Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

By Chris Tindall ELITE TRANSPORT Services says that it is on course to hit £50m turnover, despite December’s snow battering the container sector.

Director David White says the bad weather at the end of 2010 “cruciied us, just when we thought we were back on an even keel”.

However, he adds that Elite’s ive-year plan to expand and compete with the likes of Wincanton and Maritime Transport remains on track and conidence within the company is high. White’s comments come as latest igures for the year ending 30 June 2010 reveal it limited a fall in turnover to just 3% during a tough trading period.

Pre-tax proit was down to £342,000, compared with £557,000 the previous year.

“I take great pride that we are still ighting well against our competitors,” says White. “Our service levels are probably among the best.” He tells Commercial Motor that this year turnover has risen to £34.5m, compared with £28.4m at the end of June 2010, adding: “I realised when Wincanton bought Carters and Hanbury Davies that it would be the big players that survive.

“We have to get to £50m turnover pretty quick or we won’t be here. [But] I am dead conident about the next two or three years now.”
