ALTHOUGH Mazda vehicles have built since 1931, beginning with three-wheeled trucks, I have.never been able to reconcile the name with cars and lorries. I have associated it always withlamp bulbs.
Now, however, Thorn-EMI Lighting has switched off its Mazda lights and the Japanese vehicle manufacture, which started as a cork producer in 1920, alone is illuminated by the name. So the light goes out on another British landmark.
