24) for FTA NEW PRESIDENT of the Freight Transport Association is 46-yearold Malcolm Banks, group traffic manager of the Littlewoods Organisation.

Mr Banks was elected on Tuesday. He has been a member of the FTA national executive board since 1975 and of the national council since 1972.

He is also currently vice-chairman of the FTA's commercial committee and chairman of the parcels panel.

Mr Banks succeeds Ian Phillips, transport manager of Glynwed Domestic and Heating Appliances.
