pNGLAND, Scotland and Wales, this year for the first time all have a representative among the vice-chairmen of the Traders Road Transport Association, with the election of the South Wales divisional chairman, J. R. Elliott, to this office.

J. Delicate, general transport manager, Courtaulds Ltd., has been re-elected president of the Association and H. M. Floyd, G. F. Page, and W. T. Fairbairn have been re elected vice-chairmen.

D. H. Joyce, has been elected national honorary treasurer. He succeeds J. W. Bannard, head of Unilever Ltd. transport division, who is shortly to retire after six years.

Mr. Joyce, who is operations network planning manager for Shell-Mex and BP Ltd., is immediate past chairman of the Association's London and Home Counties division and has been honorary treasurer of the Institute of Transport for several years.

J. E. Huber has been elected chairman of the Southern centre of the Institute of Road Transport Engineers and presented with a new badge of office by G. Mackenzie Jtumer, founder mem bar and a past president. An Institute scroll was presented to retiring chairman P. G. Orchard. F. K. Pointon has been elected chairman and managing director of Potteries Motor Traction Co. Ltd., in succession to Raymond Birch who has resigned from the board. Mr. Birch was appointed a director of the company in 1942, became chairman in July 1943 and managing director on January 11947.

David Bottomley, who is in charge of vehicle building and repairs at Fielding and Bottomley Ltd., Halifax, has been appointed a director of the firm.

A. H. Phillips has retired through ill-health as managing director of Apaseal Ltd. after almost 40 years. David M. Clark, an engineer with world-wide experience who joined the company in 1947, has succeeded him. Clive H. Seymour, company secretary, has been appointed a director.

Jim Nolan, former Mintex Ltd. representative in Birmingham, has been appointed regional manager of the firm's 22nd new service depot— in Tipton, Staffs. Depot service supervisor is Fred Bristow, previously depot manager of Birmingham.

D. Johnson has been appointed chief engineer, Progressive Group of Companies, Coventry. He was formerly North West regional transport manager of the C WS bakery division

A. W. Dunn, managing director of Marston Excelsior Ltd., is to be chairman of Marston Radiators Ltd., the new IMI company. Managing director will be Dr. T. A. J. Lamb.

H. G. Turner, secretary/chief accountant of Southdown Motor Services Ltd., retired on March 31 after completing over 47 years in the service of the company. As previously announced, Mr. 'Turner will be succeeded as secretary by B. C. Sellars, at present assistant secretary.

J. T. McNeil has retired as a director of Edmunds, Walker and Co. Ltd., after completing over 43 years' service with the company.

R. J. Milison has been appointed an additional assistant secretary at the Institution of Mechanical Engineers. He joined the Institution editorial staff in 1950 and was appointed editor of Proceedings in 1960.

The Tilling Association Ltd. announces these changes in directorships of companies within the Group from June 1: Bernard Griffiths appointed a director and to be chairman of Bristol Omnibus and associated companies in place of T. W. H. Galley who resigns from the board. J. T. E. Robinson, at present general manager, to be managing director. Mr. Griffiths appointed a director and to be chairman of Western and Southern National, Red and White, and United Welsh, in place of Mr. Gailey who resigns from these boards too. Mr. Robinson appointed to the boards and to be deputy chairman. J. Niblock, to be chairman of Lincolnshire Road Car, Midland General and associated companies, and United Counties, in place of G. McKay, who will remain on the boards as a director. Mr. Griffiths resigns from these companies' boards.
