Although the vehicle is fitted with a Caterpillar 3406 242kW (325bhp) unit, it is possible to specify a 209kW (280bhp) unit.
Transmission is via a Fuller RT09513, 13-speed transmission and Eaton 30427 13.6-tonne (13.39 tons) capacity rear axle.
The Road Commander is designed for 38.6-tonne (38-ton) operation, and is said to be approved to the latest EEC specification.
It has a front axle capacity of 6.5 tonnes (6.4 tons) and threeline air.
