Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

FIGURES issued by the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders on Tuesday, show a drop of approximately 11.3m, in the value of new commercial vehicle exports in July, compared with June. The number of vehicles exported, however, fell by only about 300 to 10,923, the figure seen in the detailed table below.

Production in July this year comprised 22,989 goods vehicles, road haulage tractors and special-type vehicles, 675 motorbuses and trolleybuses and 162 battery-electrics. Of the goods vehicles, 12,164 were of under 15 cwt. capacity, 4,693 from 15 cwt.-3 tons, 4.431 from 3-6 tons, and 1.701 over 6 tons. The passenger vehicles comprised 16 trolleybuses, 163 double-deck motorbuses and 496 single-deck motorbuses.

Advance statistics from the Board of Trade indicate that 9.192 goods vehicles and 519 public service vehicles were sold abroad last month, com17,ared with 8,239 and 309 respectively in August, '1956. Output last month totalled 12,438 good vehicles and 431 public service vehicles, as against 11,626 and 424 respectively in August, 1956.
