It's bought us ne of the world's most dvanced automotive roduction systems, using Dmputers and modular assembly tethods.

And now hot off this produeon line comes the new Astra van.

As you can see it sports very eek lines.

It also boasts the lowest drag ictor in its class while offering even greater capacity than before.

Improved aerodynamics not only give an attractive profile, they also save a pretty penny at the fuel pumps too.

On the road you'll notice better handling and a quieter, smoother ride.

And the smaller turning circle will get you out of tight corners with ease.

A peek inside would reveal the new interior.

It has more comfortable seats and a completely re-styled facia.

But we haven't changed anything just for the sake of it.

Engines and transmissions are the same gutsy, hardworking units that you found so reliable in the previous Astra.

Will itbe 'Van of the Year' 1985? Let's just say we're quietly confident. Beneath that toug familiar exterior v have transplant( a new heart.

A new 4-speed, a new 5-speel ljusting drums are standard on Lost versions.

And they all feature a loadmsing valve.

Cab comfort is in the car class. The driver's seat is a Bostrom sign, the facia is re-styled and oise is reduced to a remarkably Lw level.

We saw no reason to change the ody shape, but we did give it the eatment.

The computerised Elpo paint (ant (part of the 70 million investtent in van production at Luton) ves a higher standard of finish for The facia, the door trims and the floor coverings are all matched in Mocca Brown.

We've added or revised many minor details from headrests to face-level ventilation.

Even things you can't see have been made better. Noise for instance.

We've applied deadener pads and additional insulation to tone that down.

On the road you'll immediately notice other improvements.

Power steering is standard and a lighter clutch operation means less legwork.

We've now got longer wheelbases to give 22 and 24 ft bodies according to model. But, as we said earlier, the new models are still TL through and through. And ; such, overall operating econon will always be their forte.
