In written evidence to the .spector holding the public iquiry into the Swanleywenoaks section of the M25, ational Carriers Ltd, Roadline K, and Southern British oad Services say that thicles forced to use longer ternative routes will incur ctra costs. NFC mentions the frequent criticisms which road haulage attracts for intruding upon the environment, and says that such purpose-built roads as M25 will avoid such causes of confrontation.

"If M25 is to provide the infrastructure for improving the economy and service levels which our operating companies can offer, it is essential that the route be completed as planned."
