Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

READING BOROUGH is buying 21 of London Transport's surplus Metropolitan double-deckers to replace Bristol VRTs.

The Scania-powered buses were new in 1976/77, and 10 are being prepared for Reading by Ensign Bus, at Purfleet. Reading already operates Metropolitans, and was generally happy with their performance.

Another 10 Metropolitans are reported sold to Whippet Coaches, the Huntingdon-based independent which has a large fleet of Leyland Atlantean double-deckers, most of them secondhand.

Four of LT's Bristol LHs with 39-seat ECW bodies are bound for more northern parts, and are being sold to Grampian Region's transport department. All of these modern vehicles have been taken out of service after last autumn's service cuts.
