STAND No. 42.

THIS famous French concern are showing four commercial chassis with capacities of 15 cwt., 30 cwt., 24tons and 6 tons; two 30-cwt. buses, a 15-cwt. ambulance and a 15-cwt. box delivery van. The 21-ton chassis is of particular interest, owing to the fact that it is fitted with four-wheel brakes. The lighter vehicles are particularly suitable for bus or delivery work, and are equipped with four-speed gearboxes, giving great flexibility.

Buses of the saloon and single-deck typeare shown on the 30-ewt. chassis, and of the other complete vehicles the ambulance, on the 15-ewt, chassis, is of particular interest, this being built in accordance with the Local Government Board regulations. The chassis is speedy and reliable, the power unit being of the fonr-cylinder type with detachable head, rated at 15.9 h.p. The transmission consists of a multiple-disc clutch, four-forward speed gearbox constructed as a unit with the engine, and semi-floating helical-bevel back axle. The suspension is by semi-elliptic springs fore and aft. The foot brake acts upon the transmission, and the hand brake operates shoes placed in rearwheel drums. The chassis is mounted on 820 mm. by 120 mm. pneumatic tyres.
