Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

\ We learn that it is proposed to hold the ninth annual commercial motor parade of the North-Western Division —Liverpool Area—of the Commercial Motor Users Association on Saturday, June 9th. Entries for the various competitions will be open to all vehicles delivered not later than June 30th last. If th,e parade is to be held, Mather Avenue, Liverpool, will be the venue. This year the vehicles will not be judged in classes, but awards will be determined on a percentage basis, and an innovation will be the presentation of special badges, to mount on the vehicle in respect of which the award is made. Challenge cups and medals -will be awarded to fleetg as in the past.

Associated Daimler Municipal Orders.

The names of many important municipal authorities figure in the list of substantial contracts which have recently been booked by the Associated Daimler Co., Ltd. These include Birmingham, Plymouth, Manchester, Edinburgh, Salford, Warrington and Lancaster Corporations and the Belfast City Tramways. Both passenger and goods-carrying models are included in the orders, and, so far as the former are concerned, every type built by the company is represented.

Big Orders for Bodies.

Davidson (Trafford Park), Ltd., Trafford Park, Manchester, has in hand a number of important orders for passenger-vehicle bodies one of the largest being that for 26 30-seater bus bodies to be mounted on Leyland Lion chassis for the West Riding Automobile Co., Ltd. Associated Daimler chassis are being used as the basis of 12 vehicles with 32-seater bodies being supplied to the Manchester Corporation, which is also having simibee bones mounted on three chassis of Meth Leyland < and Dennis makes. Another municipal order in hand is that for eight single-deck bus bodies for use on Dennis E-type chassis; these are for the Portsmouth Corporation. As an indication of the popularity of all-weather coach bodies, it can be mentioned that 12 such bodies on Lancia chassis are being supplied to Messrs. Foster and Seddon, who are also buying two 20-seater all-weather bodies for mounting on Dennis chassis.

West Ilartlepool-to-Newcastle Express Service.

The Eastern Express Motors, Ltd., which was formed in the course of the Past year, is now making rapid developments in the West Hartlepool neighbourhood.• The latest departure is an express service between -West Hartlepool and Newcastle, and for use on this route the company has just taken delivery of the final batch of 15 32-seater pneumatie-tyred Associated Daimler saloon buses.

Building Minerva Engines in Great • Britain.

The Minerva Co., of Antwerp, is reported to have granted to an English syndicate, on terms which include both a large cash payment and a royalty, the right to build Minerva engines in the United Kingdom for use in motor lorries and tractors; Welding Engineers' Meeting.

Mr. W. Steele will read a paper entitled "BronzeWelding" at ameeting of the Institution of Weldine' En. gineers, to be held at Caxton Hall, Westminster, London, S.W.1, on March 30th. The paper will be followed by a discussion.
