Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

If you find yourself out of AdBlue at a motorway service station, be prepared to pay £13.99 for a 10-litre container of the stuff —that's £1.40 a litre. But that's not so bad: US car dealers have charged as much as £200 to top up the AdBlue tank of an SUV — that's $8 (£5) a litre, plus labour.

More sensibly, anyone operating with more than a couple of trucks should buy AdBlue in bulk —typically delivered in a 1,000-litre IBC. This should cost around £440 (including a refundable £120 deposit on the container), equating to around 32p/litre ex-VAT (there's no duty on AdBlue — yet). Larger deliveries to a bunded tank can work out even cheaper: some suppliers are quoting 26p/litre.
