Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

with Ron Cater,

A better deal for its customers is the main object of the Copartnership Scheme recently announced by Kismet Ltd., of Bedford. There has been criticism in the past of the standard of service offered by manufacturers and distributors of transport service equipment and the new scheme will be welcomed by all in the transport industry particularly with the high demand now for vehicles to be kept in firstclasscondition.

The scheme itself is based on arrangements made between Kismet and a selected number of its distributors who are known to be capable of meeting the standards required by the manufacturer and who are willing to honour the added responsibility that membership of the Copartnership Scheme entails: distributors have entered into binding agreements that they will live up to their responsibilities to the customer. They will provide adequate technical information and give help to firms wishing to install the increasingly complex equipment that is now becoming more of a requirement in vehicle maintenance. And more important,

they will ensure that spare components and technical assistance are available quickly in the event of equipment going wrong. Another important aspect of Kismet plans is a -major contract scheme" which provides for a reduction in installation charges of up to 10 per cent when the work is carried out by Kismet staff and under which prices will be held stable for a period of 12 months from the time of quotation. Technical-advisory services available will cover the layout and design of workshops, the choice of equipment and the method of use best suited to its economic operation.

Two booklets have been published by Kismet to give full explanations of the Co-partnership Scheme: these are the Kismet Co-partnership Scheme Members' Directory and Definition of Responsibility. The first contains a complete list of the various branches of the 14 member companies in the scheme and the second defines what Kismet sees as its responsibility to its customers. Both are available on request from Kismet, Fenlake Road, Bedford.
