AThe apparent ambiguity arises from the use of the word "vehiclein the news item, though it did make it clear that light goods vehicles registered on or after April 1 1967 are required by law to have front seat belts. A retrospective requirementforthe fitting of seat belts applies only to cars, and not to the goods vehicles not exceeding 30cwt unladen.
