Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Keywords : Dumpster

• An attempt by C.T.H. Transport (Macclesfield) Ltd., to chande a vehicle from Contract A to B licence failed when a shortened application was heard by the North Western deputy LA, Mr. A. H. Jolliffe, in Manchester on Tuesday. A substantive application will be heard later this month. There were three objectors.

• Mr. G. H. Spafford, for the applicant, said the application had been made because there was doubt as to whether or not C.T.H. was operating within the conditions of its licence. The company wanted to change a Contract A licensed Dumpster to B licence, to take the place of a tipper and to add to the B licence a Dumpmaster which would be used when the Dumpster is required for plating.

Mr. B. Hancock, a director of C.T.H., said the Dumpster had been found suitable for carrying bulk handling containers and was wanted on the B licence instead of the tipper.

Mr. Jolliffe said that he was not prepared to grant the short-term application. The conditions which applied to the tipper could not be applied to the Dumpster as it was not capable of doing the same type of work. To grant the switch would be to allow the applicant company to enter a new business.
