• Merlin Equipment has developed the Cherokee 1500i DCto-AC power inverter for use with power tools, wheel balancers, computers and the like without resorting to a mains hook-up or generator.
With a continuous 1.5kW and a peak of 3,500W on tap it's ideal for high-surge work and, unlike some other inverters. it has a 90% efficiency, whether it's delivering just 1.0W or 1,508W of AC power. To preserve enough power for starting, when battery voltage drops to 10,8V there's an audible warning and It cuts out.
Merlin makes the inverter at its
Wallingford factory; the Cherokee retails at 1350.
